Can I create manual backups?

Yes. - App backups: In your dashboard, hover over the app, click the gear icon → Backup → Create backup. - Full server backup (including mail): Sidebar menu → Backups → Sites → “Backup now”. Storage isn’t limited by size, only by time. If you need more than the regular daily and the occasional manual backup, we’ll reach out to discuss options.

How can I restore a backup?

Login to your dashboard → hover over the app → click the gear icon → Backup. Pick a snapshot and click “Restore from this backup”. ⚠️ Warning: Restoring deletes the current state. Always create a fresh backup first. Restores usually finish quickly, depending on size. If it takes hours, contact support@happyhosting.co. You can also clone backups to access older data without overwriting your live setup.

How often are backups created?

By default: once a day between 0–6h, kept for 7 days. Extra schedules and retention can be arranged via support@happyhosting.co. Additionally, backups are created before every app or platform update.

I've downloaded a backup but it's encrypted, how can I extract it?

Since we're doing security by default, all backups are encrypted and require a unique password to decrypt. When cloning an app or restoring a backup inside the dashboard, no password is required. If you want to extract it locally, send a quick message to support@happyhosting.co and we'll provide you with the password for your platform. Make sure to keep it safe!
